What is IBS?
Founded on May 31, 1963, the Brazilian Steel Institute – IBS undertakes the goal of bringing together and representing Brazilian steel companies, supporting their interests and promoting their development. In fulfilling such attributions, IBS carries out studies and research related to production, equipments and technology, raw materials and energy, market trends, new applications of steel and industrial relations, collects data, prepares and publishes statistics, assists in product normatization, develops programs and policies defined by the sector, acts as representative of the sector before public and private entities and organs, domestic and foreign, performs public relations activities and keeps in touch with entities alike abroad.
