SINOBRAS

SINOBRAS - Siderúrgica Norte Brasil S.A. was conceived under the strictest concepts of sustainable productivity: meeting the needs of the present generation not compromising survival nor quality of life of future ones.

Comprising an investment of US$ 300 million, the SINOBRAS Integrated Steel Mill in Marabá/PA, is the first in the North and Northeast of Brazil. The company will produce 300,000 t/y of steel for civil construction, wire rod, wire and wire products. Its geographic location considered availability of raw material, market and economic-social development of the region.

The SINOBRAS Integrated Steel Mill has four units: Blast furnace for pig iron production; Steel shop for the production of steel billets; Rolling facility, for the production of rolled steel products (rods and wire rod); and Drawing, under implementation, for wire rod products (wire, screens, etc).

Grupo Aço Cearense

Based on a track record filled with work and success, Grupo Aço Cearense, present in the Brazilian market for 29 years, decided upon the implementation of the first integrated steel mill for the production of long steel products in the North and Northeast of Brazil: Siderúrgica Norte Brasil S.A. - SINOBRAS, in Marabá, Pará.

The group has two manufacturing plants, located in the city of Caucaia (CE), four warehouse/outlets in Fortaleza (CE) and a portfolio of 20,000 active clients/month, doing business in 19 countries including Argentina, the US, South Africa and Germany.

The group, which is a reference in Brazil's metallurgic sector for its operational efficiency in the production of steel pipes, shapes, plates, slitters and flat steel formed products in general, is the country's largest steel importer, the largest private importer in the state of Ceará, the second largest handler of cargo in the Port of Pecém (CE), second only to Petrobras Distribuidora, and one of the largest taxpayers (ICMS and federal taxes) in the state of Ceará.
