Belgo Grupo Arcelor Brasil:
 |
| Monlevade |
The environmental policy of ArcelorMittal Belgo is guided by the following principles: environmental management
as a priority and as a determining factor for the accomplishment
of sustainable development, continuous adjustments to the
environmental legislation in force, adoption of recommendations
resulting from environmental preservation technical and scientific
breakthroughs and the guarantee of integration and balance
between industrial development and protection of the environment.
Belgo’s industrial operations are
regulated by environmental licenses granted by the authorities
of Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, São Paulo and
Bahia. In the steel sector, five of their six industrial plants
are ISO 14001-certified, and in the sector of drawing plants,
BMB also holds this certification. Furthermore, there is a
concern for social responsibility. The company’s commitment
to the new generations is reflected in its respect for nature.
It believes in promoting sustainable development, with environmental
management as a priority, making constant investments in actions,
installations and equipment that add value to the ecosystem
of the regions where Belgo is inserted. Equally important
are education and health of the children and the young, promoted
by several social programs. Learn more
